A faint fingerprint, too small to belong to any adult, rests at its center, suspended like an insect trapped in resin. You have advantage on saving throws against being frightened while attuned to the Amber Heart. When you succeed on such a save, the heart emits a faint golden shimmer.
Soothing Pulse (1/day).
As an action, you can release the Heart’s calming aura. You cast Calm Emotions without expending a spell slot or requiring components. When you do, the amber briefly glows like a candle in the dark.
Last Breath.
If you or someone in your party would be reduced to 0 hit points, the Amber Heart cracks and shatters with a soft chime. Instead of falling unconscious, you drop to 1 hit point.
This effect destroys the item permanently. (The person dying has to be within reach of you and must take effect very quickly. Can't be done for someone who already died by more than a minute)
