Ring, rare (requires attunement by a character with at least one melee weapon proficiency. )

A hyena tooth and bone amulet portraying the Gnoll Demon Lord Yeenoghu. Gives a +1 to intimidation and +1 to attacks made with melee weapons while worn.

CURSED:

While worn, the wearer hears dark, hideous, hyena-like laughter in the back of their mind whenever it is quiet around them. The laughter is quiet until any sort of fight breaks out, in which case 3 things happen:

  1. The wearer has disadvantage on perception checks based on hearing as the laughter becomes deafening.
  2. The wearer begins cackling madly, and has the urge to bite their targets or partially consume them whenever possible.
  3. The wearer sees any nearby gnolls or demons as an ally. If the only hostile creatures to the wearer are gnolls or demons, they are forced to attack party members until incapacitated or the amulet is removed.

Every day at noon, the wearer rolls a WIS save, DC 14. On a failed save, the wearer starts cackling softly, and attempts to find the closest demon or gnoll it knows of. If it knows of none, it will obsessively seek out information about it. If the wearer finds a demon or gnoll while under this effect and it is not a demon or gnoll, it will drop anything it is holding or wearing (except the amulet) and offer itself as a sacrifice. If the wearer takes damage of any kind, repeat the save. On a success, the effect ends and the wearer is immune until the next noon. Protection from good/evil can only stop the effect until the end of the spell.

Notes: Bonus: Melee Attacks, Bonus: Intimidation, Disadvantage: Perception, character with at least one melee weapon proficiency.
