Forged from dark crimson metal and adorned with golden filigree and pale, bone-like dragon ornaments, this armor carries the remnants of Merkhos, an ancient dragon whose flames once scorched kingdoms and turned battlefields into seas of molten stone.
At its center rests a hollow cavity shaped like a dragon's heart. Within it burns a faint crimson ember—the last surviving fragment of Merkhos's essence.
The armor is unnaturally warm to the touch. Thin veins of red light run across its plates like molten blood, growing brighter whenever its wearer experiences anger, pain, or the instinct to fight. Four immense dragon wings emerge from the armor's back, while a long, segmented tail coils behind the wearer like that of a living dragon.
The pale ornaments across the chest resemble the exposed bones of a dragon's wings, forming a crown around the armor's core. Gold traces run between the plates like veins, binding the ancient dragon's power into the armor.
But the armor demands a price.
Merkhos does not lend his power freely.
The heart of every creature that becomes its vessel is sacrificed during attunement. Once the ritual is complete, the wearer's heart is consumed and replaced by a fragment of the ancient dragon's essence. Their heartbeat is replaced by the slow, powerful pulse of draconic flame.
From that moment onward, the armor is no longer merely equipment.
This armour consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.
