Aegis of the Silver Crane

This pristine, polished silver shield is embossed with the image of a soaring crane. It is traditionally awarded to the valedictorian of the Abbey before a dangerous deployment.

As a reaction when a creature you can see within 30 feet takes damage, you can flare the shield's latent magic. A spectral, stained-glass wing wraps around the target, granting them resistance to that instance of damage. Once all charges of this property are used, it cannot be used again until the next long rest.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
