While wearing the EAA, you can use a reaction when you take cold, fire, or lighting damage to cast the absorb elements spell, even when you usually can't. At the end of your next turn you become vulnerable to the damage type you absorbed until you finish a short rest. This item has three charges, one per damage type it can absorb, once all charges have been used, it requires recharging at a Font of Power before it can be used again.
Padded armor consists of quilted layers of cloth and batting.
