While wearing this armband, your upcastable spells gain increased potency. If you cast a spell using a spell slot of 1st level or higher, and that spell has an effect that improves when cast at a higher level, the spell is treated as though it were cast using a spell slot one level higher than the slot you expended.
You must have access to spell slots of the higher level for this benefit to apply. If the spell is cast using a spell slot equal to the highest level of spell you can cast, this item provides no additional effect.
Example: A caster with 1st‑, 2nd‑, and 3rd‑level spell slots and one Armband of Amplification casts an upcastable spell using a 1st‑level slot. The spell is treated as though cast at 2nd level. If cast using a 2nd‑level slot, it is treated as 3rd level. If cast using a 3rd‑level slot, no amplification occurs.
