Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a A roll on the wild magic table)

Ao's Shackle is a golden wristband inlaid with 6 different gemstones; an Emerald, a Sapphire, a Ruby, a Topaz, a Citrine and a Diamond. Each gemstone is cracked. The shackle allows the capturing and utilization of elementals and primordials, with a gemstone corresponding to a type of elemental (Life/Forest, Water/Ice, Fire, Lightning, Earth and Air). When an elemental becomes bound to one of the gemstones, the cracks will disappear and the gemstone will faintly glow. While elementals are being held within the shackle, their magical energies will leak out into the wild magic user, creating a greater risk of a Wild Magic Surge to occur. A bound elemental can also be released to fight for the user; however, there is an innate risk of the elemental breaking free of the user's control and going rogue.

To bind an elemental, the corresponding gemstone must be free of any other elemental. The elemental to be bound must be at a critically low HP, and will be bound at the will of the user. At the moment of binding, a wild magic surge will occur. If an elemental is called on to fight, the user must pass a DC15 Arcana + Spellcasting modifier roll to ensure it stays in their command. The elemental will have the same stat block as the one caught, and will last for X number of combat turns based on the overage roll of the DC15 Arcana + Spellcasting modifier. After an elemental has been expended in combat, it must be recharged by forcing a wild magic surge.

  • Each Elemental bound increases the odds of a Wild magic roll (ups the D20 count by 1)

Notes: A roll on the wild magic table
