Avian Shield

A bird-esque shield about the length of an adult human forearm and half a bisep. The beak is located near the hand, covering the wrist, two orbs in place of eyes, and body is replaced by a curved sheet of metal that cover the inner mechanisms of the shield. Under the body, layed on top of each other, are thin long blades that reach up to the shoulder of the user. The blades are arranged like feather, with 7 feathers on each side. The top two layers of feathers are wider than the other two with four runes located, if the shield is horizontal, downward, one rune for each feather. On the handle are four buttons. The first button is what activates Mode A, which flings the ten lower feathers outward. Each feather except the two lowest have metal plates that are layed on top of each other. When the feathers are extended the plates attached to the feathers unlayer and then connect together, forming a shield with ten one inch long points slicking out the sides, with a small gap the size of the width of the user's hand. In Mode B, which is activated by the second button, the beak extends into an eight inch long 3 inch wide very thin blade. Mode C is the combination Mode A and B. The fourth button is only pressable after attunement, ans pushing it results in the four wide and thin feathers releasing and the runes located on the bottom of them glow. This allows the shield to detach from the handle and be able to fly around. The handle than acts as a relay that allows the user to control the flight of the now drone with mental commands. The user also gets the option to see through the two orbs of the shield as if they were their own eyes. Mode D can also use the other modes as well, making it so that the drone can be a flying shield, sword, or both.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
