a regular pistol 1d8 range 50ft with a bonus action that magically switches to a longsword 1d8 range 5ft. Found in ruins of organization hunting elves. has the advantage over any elves when using it. needs ammunition for the pistol to work and the sword with work comes with belt holster
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
