This amulet features an iron disk with an etching of a crescent moon and is strung along with claws and fangs of various ferocious beasts. While attuned, this amulet will allow the wearer to take on a bestial form; this form varies depending on whether the user's Strength or Dexterity score is higher. If a user's Strength score is higher than their Dexterity score, the form they take is canine. If a user's Dexterity score is higher than their Strength score, the form they take is feline. If both scores are equal, flip a coin: Heads means that the user's form will be Canine, Tails means that the user's form will be Feline (This will then be their form for any time they use the amulet in the future). This form can be voluntarily activated at will when the user is not in direct sunlight, without requiring any form of action by the wearer.
When activated, the wearer's height increases by 1 foot, their eyes change to resemble those of the form they take (canine or feline), their fingernails and toenails become slightly extended and sharp like claws, their ears extend and grow fur on the tops and tips, and fur grows on their arms and legs (up to their elbows and kneecaps respectively). They may also grow fur on other parts of their body if they desire.
Only when in this form, the user gains the following benefits:
- Beast Hide: +1 to AC
- Wild Claws: Unarmed strikes deal 1d8 + STR/DEX slashing damage (whichever is higher), and can be made as bonus actions if the user has one hand free. These count as weapon attacks.
- Bestial Senses: Advantage on perception checks
- Eyes of the Stalker: Either gain a 60ft Darkvision or increase Darkvision by 30ft
- Swift Strider: Walking Speed increased by 20 feet
- Bestial Features: The user gains additional abilities based on which form the amulet grants them
- If their form is canine, they gain the following benefits
- Wolfish Vigor: +2 to Strength Score (To a max of 22) and advantage on athletics checks
- Pack Hunter: They gain the 'Pack Tactics' Feature
- Piercing Strike: Gain the ability to add +5 to one damage roll on their turn
- Heavy Hitter: Upon hitting a critical hit, the target is stunned until the start of its next turn
- If their form is feline, they gain the following benefits
- Feline Grace: +2 to Dexterity Score (To a max of 22)
- Catlike Reflexes: The user can gain advantage on Dexterity Saving throws twice per long rest
- Hunter's Perch: They gain a climbing speed of 30 ft and advantage on Acrobatics Checks
- Leap: The user can horizontally leap their movement as a bonus action if they have not moved within the past 6 seconds
- If their form is canine, they gain the following benefits
- The user suffers from a -2 to Charisma Saving Throws as well as Disadvantage on Charisma-based ability checks, except Intimidation, which they gain advantage in.
- When hit by a silvered weapon, the user takes full damage as well as an additional 1 point of radiant damage
Cursed: After each long rest, the user must make a Charisma saving throw. The DC starts at 5 but increases by 1 after each subsequent long rest. This save must also be made whenever the wearer attempts to remove their attunement to the amulet. On a failed save, the amulet melds into the wearer's skin and the crescent emblem becomes emblazoned on their neck. Once this happens, the effects become both permanent and involuntary, causing the afflicted to take on this form and the effects that accompany it whenever they are not in direct sunlight. (I.E. They would appear normal in the thoroughfare of a daily market, but every time they enter a shop or a cloud passes overhead, they assume their bestial form involuntarily)
When the curse takes effect, the user's attunement to the item is removed and instead becomes a permanent feature.
The DC for this save will carry over even if the creature removes their attunement to the item and re-attunes to it again later.
This curse can only be removed by drinking Wolfsbane Tea out of a silver cup under a full moon or by the spell 'Wish.' At which point, the amulet will reappear, looped around the afflicted's neck once again, lacking attunement.
