While holding this shield, you gain a bonus to AC as though you were holding a normal shield. While you are not wielding any weapon, you can use this shield as a 1d8 weapon with which you are proficient. Once per turn, you can throw the shield as one of your weapon attacks as though it had the thrown property (30/60). Immediately after the attack, the shield flies back to your hand. Using the thrown property of the shield negates the shield bonus to your AC until the start of your next turn.
Proficiency with a Flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
