+1 to attack and damage rolls. While in possession of this sword you have advantage on all stealth checks you can also re-roll 1`s and 2`s on stealth checks. 

When you attack an object with this magic sword and hit, maximize your weapon damage dice against the target.

When you attack a creature with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, that target takes an extra 14 slashing damage. Then roll another d20. If you roll a 20, you lop off one of the target's limbs, with the effect of such loss determined by the GM. If the creature has no limb to sever, you lop off a portion of its body instead.

In addition, you can speak the sword's command word to cause the blade to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. Speaking the command word again or sheathing the sword puts out the light. 

If you die while attuned or  bonded to this sword though a pact your soul returns to your blade. If the sword is not on your body or disappears as a result of being a pact weapon your soul reincarnates into a new body away from the sword and you can sense the location of the sword while your soul is still attuned to it or bonded to the sword through a pact. 

If there is no other bodies in the area to reincarnate into the bonded or attuned soul is drawn into and  sealed inside the sword until it`s unsheathed releasing the soul to be reincarnated if it chooses to leave the containment of the blade upon being unsheathed.

While the soul is sealed in the sword the sword acts as a sentient blade allowing your soul to be able to communicate through the blade to who currently has the blade in their possession. If the user is attuned to the blade both the user and the sealed soul are connected as one having a psychic connection to one another.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
