A Main-Gauche is a specific type of fencing dagger typically paired with a fencing sword such as a Rapier, Saber, Shortsword, or Scimitar. A main-gauche is a Martial Weapon that does not have the Thrown property.
- When wielding a main-gauche and any one-handed fencing sword, you can use two-weapon fighting even if the fencing sword you are wielding doesn’t have the light property.
- While wielding a main-gauche and a fencing sword, if you do not use your bonus action to make a two-weapon fighting attack then you have a +1 bonus to your AC until the beginning of your next turn.
- You can draw or stow a main-gauche and a fencing sword when you would normally be able to draw or stow only one.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and whenever this weapon grants you a bonus to your AC, you have a +1 bonus that is in addition to the weapon’s normal bonus to AC.
Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
