Albin's Crown is one of the fourteen "Elder Weapons" created by the ancestors of the wingle race. During the ominous days before the dispersion of the tribe of the wingle ancestors, the crown was crafted to be the inheritance of Albin's descendants.
Albin was a sage, inquisitive and logical. A historian, he collected all the tales and songs of wingle kind, compiling them into many volumes of literature. His crown became his sort of signature, its image marking the beastiaries and atlases and all his written work. Though none have ever confirmed it, many began to suspect that Albin's Crown acted as a sort of magical register of information and knowledge, as all the descendants who have worn it have been quite perspicacious and wise.
Given that it was a symbol of rule and knowledge, the bitter struggles that followed the weapons of the other wingle ancestors passed over Albin's Crown. After the lengthy reign of Maegwyn, the wingle ancestor who ruled over the large earthmote known as the Cloudland, had concluded, descendants of Albin and Sheya rose to the throne. They brought much needed stability to the Cloudland after Maegwyn's surprising death, and as such, their treasures came to be symbols of the rulers of the Cloudland. Passed down from generation to generation, they are still in possession of the Cloudland monarchs to this day- though, in dire circumstances, they have been loaned out to trusted allies.
