The Aegis Bolt is made possible by the one of the Superior Runes of Lightning, this one being Aegis. The rune was crafted and imbued its magical essence in the Eternal Forge. This is the only way to receive this rune. This rune embodies a small hint of power resembling that of Zeus's shield Aegis, yet combining his manipulation and power over lightning.
Feature:
As a Reaction, the user may use the Riposte reaction (from the Battle-master Maneuvers) to absorb the oncoming kinetic and/or lightning damage from a weapon attack or spell. If successfully parried (the Parry hits), the sword absorbs the damage. The absorbed damage can be used to one of two ways.
1) You can channel that electrical energy through your sword, causing to spark uncontrollably and reflect it back on the next melee attack using your sword, adding an additional 1d8 lightning damage and the target has to roll a Constitution Saving Throw (DC = 10 + your Strength Mod + Proficiency Bonus) or be Stunned.
2) You can channel that electrical energy through your sword, causing it to vibrate with great intensity and reflect it back on the next melee attack using your sword, adding an additional 1d4 thunder damage and the target has to roll a Strength Saving Throw (DC = 10 + your Strength Mod + Proficiency Bonus) or be pushed back 15 ft.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
