Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a Anyone who can understand Draconic)

There are five variations of this: Ancient Fiery Dragonic Blade, Ancient Acidic Dragonic Blade, Ancient Poisoned Dragonic Blade, Ancient Electric Dragonic Blade, and Ancient Icy Dragonic Blade.

Each variation has these traits:

  • 2d6 Damage (Versatile: 2d8 damage when wielded with 2 hands)
  • Able to translate Common into Draconic by showing messages in symbols on the flat of the blade
  • Elemental Aura: When you make an attack, as part of that attack, you can call out "BAHAMUT HAS JUDGED YOU!" to cause the blade to shimmer and emit an aura of the element it is named for. If the attack hits, this deals an extra 1d12 damage of that blade's element. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you roll for initiative again.

Ancient Fiery Dragonic Blade: If the attack hits while the blade emits its elemental aura, it deals an extra 1d12 fire damage, and the target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC=16) or be set on fire, if it is wearing, holding, or carrying anything flammable. While a creature is set on fire, it takes 1d6 fire damage at the beginning of its turns every turn for 6 turns. A creature must use its action in order to put the fire out.

Ancient Acidic Dragonic Blade: If the attack hits while the blade emits its elemental aura, it deals an extra 1d12 acid damage, and the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC=16) or have its Strength reduced by 1d4 for 1 hour. The target's Strength cannot be reduced to 0 by this means.

Ancient Poisoned Dragonic Blade: If the attack hits while the blade emits its elemental aura, it deals an extra 1d12 poison damage, and the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC=16) or be poisoned for 1 hour. While the target is poisoned in this way, it takes 1d6 poison damage at the beginning of its turns every turn for 6 turns, in addition to the normal poisoned condition. A Lesser Restoration spell, or anything that neutralizes poison, ends this effect.

Ancient Electric Dragonic Blade: If the attack hits while the blade emits its elemental aura, it deals an extra 1d12 lightning damage, and a thunderclap bursts forth upon impact, audible out to 120 feet. Anyone within 20 feet of the thunderclap must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or take 1d10 thunder damage. A creature automatically succeeds on this saving throw if it is deafened.

Ancient Icy Dragonic Blade: If the attack hits while the blade emits its elemental aura, it deals an extra 1d12 cold damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be restrained for 1 minute as the blade freezes its target. A creature can use its action to make a DC 16 Strength (Athletics) check to break out of the ice, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
