This weapon is a +3 greatsword that does an additional 3d8 fire damage. As a bonus action you switch the weapon's elemental damage to cold, lightning, or back to fire. This can be done an unlimited number of times.
As a reaction to a attack you can use Sword Defense, be it ranged or melee you can increases your ac by 2 for that attack. This can be used twice per day
Finally as action you activate the weapons Element Drive for a minute or when deactivated with a bonus action. The effect of this weapon changes based on your current element type and its effect moves with you. This can be used once per day.
When the Xuanyuan Sword is set to fire creatures within 30ft must make a 20 dc dexterity saving throw or take 3d10 fire and 3d10 bludgeoning damage as small meteors pelt the ground. For the rest of the duration creatures take 1d8 fire damage at the start of their turns.
When the sword is set to cold creatures within 30ft must make a 20 dc constitution saving throw or take 4d10 cold damage as rapid cold winds circle around you. For the duration creatures have their speed halved due to difficult terrain surrounding you.
When the sword is set to lightning enemies within 30ft must make a 20 dc dexterity saving throw or take 5d10 lightning damage as bolts appear from nowhere to strike them. For the duration creatures who start their turn there or enter the area for the first time must succeed on a 20 dc constitution saving or be paralyzed for a minute. Paralyzed creatures can repeat their saving at the end of their turns.
