This fine set of armor is made of platinum, with a web motif throughout and the symbol of Lolth in the center of the breastplate. While wearing it, you gain the following benefits:
- You have resistance to poison damage.
- You can't be caught in webs of any sort and can move through webs as if they were difficult terrain.
- The armor has 5 charges. You can use an action to expend a charge and cast the web spell (save DC 16). The web created by the spell fills twice its normal area. You regain 1d4+1 charges at dusk.
The armor has four metallic arms, like the legs of a spider, protruding from the back of the breastplate. While attuned, the arms behave as an extension of yourself. As a bonus action, you can utter the armor's command word and switch the arms from attack mode to climb mode, or back again. While in attack mode, the arms poise in a threatening display, hovering around your torso. While in climbing mode, the arms move like legs, hoisting your body over the ground or hanging you from walls and ceilings and surfaces.
While in attack mode, you gain the following benefits.
- You gain a weapon attack with the arms equal to your Dexterity modifier that deals 2d8 + DEX damage. The attack is considered magical.
- You can use a bonus action to make an attack with the arms instead of the normal attack action.
- As a reaction when a creature enters a space adjacent to you, you can make an attack with your arms. You can take this reaction up to four times (one for each arm) but taking one means you cannot take any other kind of reaction until the end of your next turn.
- If you hit a target with two arm attacks you can choose to grapple the target (DC 20). The target is pincered by two or more of the arms depending on how many attacks have hit them, and you can only attack up to as many times as you have arms free. You can release them as a free action, or changing modes releases them.
- As a reaction when a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use the arms to form a sort of protective cage around you, increasing your AC by 3 for that attack. You can take this reaction after hearing the result of the attack, but not after hearing the damage. This reaction can only be taken with a full reaction available (no arm opportunity attacks can have been taken.)
While in climb mode, you gain the following benefits.
- You have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
- You can move up, down, and across vertical surfaces and upside down along ceilings, while leaving your hands and legs free.
- Your jumping distance is tripled.
- You can lift up to an incredible height, allowing you to move through spaces containing a Medium or smaller creature at full movement.
- You have advantage on Dexterity and Strength saving throws against being knocked prone.
- You have resistance to bludgeoning damage taken from falling.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
