This black iron lantern has no candle in it, but it has an amber core glowing with an eerie, dim light that's magical and extends for 20 ft. while not using its charges. It's decorated with various symbols and runes. The lantern can be used as an arcane spellcasting focus.
The lantern has 2 charges. As an action, you can expend one charge to steal the light from an area as if you cast the Darkness spell, when you do the lantern lights up dramatically and sheds bright light in a 40 ft. radius, and dim light for another 20 ft. Holding light in this way requires concentration and the light shed by the lantern is not magical. When the lantern holds light in this way you can release it again to light up objects in an amber-colored light as if you cast the Faerie Fire spell. The light disperses when you drop your concentration.
