A large, chunky silver amulet, with a piece of red crystal embedded in the centre, it appears valuable to the untrained eye. Upon inspection of the crystal, there appears to be a constant shifting glow from within its centre, fluctuating in intensity and shade of red.
Those who become attuned to the amulet feel compelled to wear it around their neck constantly, within view of as many people as possible. They are also inclined to brag about their mastery over magics to any who will listen. This attunement cannot be broken, except through the use of the Remove Curse spell, or a similar effect.
Whenever you cast a spell of first level or higher using a spell slot, you must make an intelligence saving throw against your own spell save DC.
If the save is failed, you tap into the chaotic energy of magic itself, activating the amulet’s effect.
The result of this is the casting of a random spell of the same level as the initial spell, without expending a spell slot. If the save is passed, you may choose to activate the effect.
The target of any spell cast as a result of the amulet’s effect is either the target chosen as the target of the initial spell, or a random target chosen from within the range of the new spell if the initial spell did not specify a target.
Notes: Character able to cast at least one spell of first level or higher
