Armor (shield), rare

While good shields are crafted from thick steel and stout wood, the best shields - the shields within us all, the shields that protect us from the casual cruelties and soft traumas inflicted by our friends and loved ones - must be far stronger to keep our sanity intact. So no matter how crude and ugly they are we clutch our treasured shields closely, never allowing them to change, never forgetting them or letting them go, to protect us from the worst this world has to offer - the truth of revealing our inner selves.

This clumsily-built wicker-and wood shield looks like a reasonably fit person who wouldn't mind a few dings around the knuckles could easily put their fist through it, but the shield is unbreakable and provides a +2 bonus to AC on top of the normal +2 bonus for shields.  It has "are we cool yet" scrawled on its face in chalk that is never disturbed by blows or the weather.

Inspired by the SCP Wiki but AFAIK is original and Creative Commons content. Releasing as Creative Commons content for the D&D Beyond community.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class
