This small bag has a single central pouch that acts as an extradimensional space. Contained within the pouch is a set of every type of artisan's tools. Also contained within the pouch is a disguise kit, forgery kit, herbalism kit, set of navigator's tools, poisoner's kit and set of thieves' tools. The bag always weighs 2 pounds, regardless of its contents.
Any of the tools contained within the bag can be retrieved as an action. When you reach into the bag for a specific set of tools, they are always magically on top. Placing a set of tools back into the bag follows the normal rules for interacting with objects. Attempting to place an item other than the original tools within the bag will result in the item being spit out.
The tools contained within the bag are magically bound to it. If a set of tools is destroyed, they will disappear and reappear in the bag completely intact. Additionally, any damage or wear the tools sustain will be repaired once they return to the bag. Any tools outside of the bag automatically return to it if they remain outside it for 24 hours or if they are 100 feet away from it.
Basic materials normally provided by a set of tools, such as ink and parchment, are magically replenished while the tool set is within the bag. Items created using these materials are not bound to the bag and will not automatically return to it when the above conditions are met.
The bag has a few limitations. If a sharp object pierces it or tears it, the bag ruptures and is destroyed. If the bag is destroyed, its contents are lost forever. If the bag is turned inside out, all the tools inside spill forth, unharmed, and the bag must be put right before it can be used again.
Placing the bag inside an extradimensional space created by a bag of holding, portable hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it and deposited in a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.
