A dead creature you touch with the ankh is returned to life, provided that it has been dead no longer than 12 hours. A corpse older than 12 hours will cause the resurrection to fail. If the creature’s soul is both willing and at liberty to rejoin the body, the creature returns to life with 1 hit point.
This effect also neutralizes any poison and cures diseases that affected the creature at the time it died.
This effect closes all mortal wounds, but it doesn’t restore missing body parts. If the creature is lacking body parts or organs integral for its survival the resurrection fails.
The target takes a -7 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks. Every time the target finishes a long rest, the penalty is reduced by 1 until it disappears.
Once a resurrection is performed (success or failure), the ankh cannot be used again for 7 full days (168 hours), and until you pray to your Life god, over the ankh, for at least 8 hours (total, not continuous) For example, if you pray for 1 hour per day it will take 8 days before the ankh can be used. If you pray for 8 hours in one day, it will still take 7 days before the ankh can be used.
