Aos Sidhe Whistle

This item appears to be a carved piece of bone, perhaps from a finger or hand, with detailed silver ornamentation in the style of complex knotwork of thorny vines.

These whistles are created in the Feywild for use by agents of the Unseelie Court of the Sidhe. When found it has 1d6+4 charges and it has a 50% chance of regaining 1d3 charges each day at midnight. If the last charge is used, roll 1d10. On a roll of 1 the whistle dissolves into smoke and a Banshee appears. On a roll of 10 the whistle regains 10 charges.

Like many creations of the Fey, these whistles are capricious and unpredictable in function. A trained Bard can reliably control the device. Someone who does not have such training must roll 1d6 on the following table:

1. User must make DC14 CHA save or be affected by a Fey Curse. Cursed individual gains 1 level of Exhaustion. Exhaustion cannot be removed by resting. User may repeat save each day at dawn until successful or until Remove Curse is cast on the user.

 The whistle can manifest either of two effects as an action. By blowing gently on the whistle, the user can expend 1 charge to cast Speak with Dead. By blowing hard on the whistle, the user can expend 5 charges to cast Animate Dead at 5th level. In either case, blowing on the whistle makes a sound that only undead creatures can hear.
