"It has everything! It has things you didn't know you needed in your life until one day you accidentally unfold it from the handle! Look, it even has one of these things! I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS THING IS EVEN FOR! But it has one! And though I know not what it's for, I fully intend to find out!"
- Zelphor Wrough, professional tinkerer and proud new owner of a zanderlintynkuld.
Translating roughly from Dwarvish to "adventuring field axe" and colloquially known in common as a "Dwarven Army Axe", a zanderlintynkuld (pronounced: ZAN-dur-LINN-tinn-koold), is a portable, versatile hand tool that combines several individual functions in a single unit. While folded, it looks like a hafted hand tool the head for which bears a hammer on one side and an axe blade on the other. A large number of tools can be unfolded from the handle.
A zanderlintynkuld includes any tool you may need to facilitate survival out in the field or to pursue a craft or trade, including a small magical light source. However, the small size of the tools does not allow for the application of maximum skill. While using a zanderlintynkuld, you add half your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make using the tool. If a zanderlintynkuld has a magic bonus, you gain a bonus to ability checks made using the tool equal to its magic bonus.
A zanderlintynkuld's light has 6 charges, and regains 1d4+1 expended charges daily at dawn. You can expend 1 charge to cast light from the tool.
In combat a zanderlintynkuld functions as either a handaxe or a light hammer, and counts as both for the purposes of weapon proficiencies.
