Weapon (longbow), artifact (requires attunement by a Ranger, Rogue, or Fighter)

The legendary bow used by one of the Founder's of the Knights of Bane. This bow is imbued with an immense amount of power and acts as a conduit for that power. In the end, it is the skill of the wielder that unlocks the power as opposed to the strength of the weapon acting on its own. The abilities this bow possesses grows in power as the wielder takes levels in Rogue, Fighter, or Ranger.

The bow seems to be made of a golden etched wood. Crafted from ancient beings known as Treants or Tree-Folk but not given freely, this bow is the result of the death of one of these magnificent and long extinct creatures. There is a central root that acts as the heart of the Treant and is said to possess the most potential for magic out of any wood in the known universe. The Heart Root is a forbidden crafting material but was used to create this immensely powerful and unique weapon. At its strongest, the bow has the ability to steal the talents of other rangers and allow the wielder of the weapon to use it themselves.

Ranger, Rogue, Fighter level 3: The Archer's Bane grants an additional +1 to attacks and is considered a magical weapon. You have 3 skill charges with the weapon that return after a long rest, you can expend them in the following ways:

*You can spend 1 charge to gain advantage on a ranged attack made that is over 50 feet in distance.

*You can spend 1 charge to deal an additional 2d4 force damage with your next attack (if you miss the effect ends)

Ranger, Rogue, Fighter level 10: The Bow hums lightly in your grasp, some of its true power begins to reveal itself, the attack bonus becomes +2 now. You lose the level 3 powers and gain 5 skill charges that return after a short rest, you may now use the following powers:

*You can spend 1 charge to gain advantage on a ranged attack

*You can spend 2 charges to make an additional Longbow attack when you take the attack action

*You can spend 1 charge to gain 2d6 extra force damage on a Longbow attack

Ranger, Rogue, Fighter level 15: The Bow's true power reveals itself to you, it constantly hums with an intense power that only you can hear and the attack bonus becomes +3. You lose the level 10 powers and skill charges and instead gain 8 skill charges that return after a short rest and the following powers:

*You can spend 2 charges and gain advantage on all Longbow attacks made until the start of your next turn

*You can spend 4 charges and gain a single feature from the Ranger, Fighter, or Rogue class. This effect lasts for 1 minute.

*You can spend 1 charge and may make a Dexterity save against any ranged attack made against you that you can see coming, this action is considered a reaction but doesn't count as your reaction this turn, you may also add this weapon's attack bonus to this roll. If the Dexterity save beats the attack roll of the ranged attack, the attack misses and you take no damage, if the attack is a spell with an area of effect, the spell detonates where it was shot, damaging anything in the area. If you successfully shoot back a projectile with this ability you gain 2 skill charges (you cannot exceed 8 charges).

*You can spend X charges (Up to 8) and deal an additional 1d8 of force damage per skill charge spent this way on the next attack you hit a target with (misses don't count against this power's use). If you sacrifice over 4 skill charges this way the attack is also considered to have the High Critical property.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Ranger, Rogue, or Fighter, Ammunition, Heavy, Range, Two-Handed, Slow
