Weapon (longbow), very rare

An Arrow of Orion functions similarly to an arrow of slaying. However, upon speaking the command word the user can determine what specific type of creature it is to slay. If a creature belonging to the type, race, or group associated with an Arrow of Orion takes damage from the bolt, the creature must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking an extra 6d10 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much extra damage on a successful one. If the targeted creatures True Name is known to the user and is spoken with the command word, all damage is tripled (a successful save reduces this by half). The user must have observed or hunted the targeted creature for a minimum of one week for the this feature to work, other wise the bolt will function as a normal bolt of slaying. Theses arrows generally were produced in bundles of 10-12, however they are most often found in smaller numbers.

Once an Arrow of Orion deals its extra damage to a creature, it becomes a non-magical arrow.

Other types of magic ammunition of this kind exist, such as bolts of slaying meant for a crossbow, though arrows are most common.

Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
