A small and unassuming compass with a blue needle, closer inspection reveals this compass is much more ornate than it seems. Made from tarnished platinum and embossed with bluish silver designs, it more closely resembles a piece of fantasy than a functional tool, but the needle still points... to what, only one person is sure.
Without attunement, this item functions as a normal compass, and reliably points towards the world's magnetic north. When attuned, however, the needle inside the compass begins to hum softly. It will point towards whatever the user deeply desires, regardless of distance or direction. This desire may not be immediately apparent to the user; as such, it is unlikely that the compass will point towards a stash of gold if something more intricately attached to the character's backstory is present.
