This magic book was forged with gold from deep within the Forge of Souls (or any legendary Forge in your campaign). Used by Iksa 'the Wise' Sylvari, elven wizard companion to the Hero Nordak Gellantara (or any two legendary characters from your campaign).
Sentience. Alythessa, Golden Pages is a sentient, neutral good artifact with an intelligence of 20, a Wisdom of 14, and a Charisma of 12. It has hearing and darkvision up to a range of 60 ft. This artifact can understand all languages and communicate with those deemed worthy through telepathy, if they are attuned to it.
Each of the following are granted by the DM at a specific point of the campaign:
Turn to golden paper Golem. Alythessa, Golden Pages turns into a small golden paper golem. The golem can perform simple orders, it has darkvision and essence detection. The golem functions as a Wizard's familiar with 5 hp. If the Golem suffers any damage then it turns back into a book and will not be able to be used until a long rest. Paper Golem can maintain the wizard's concentration on an additional spell. This uses the wielder's action.
Turn to golden stone Golem. Alythessa, Golden Pages turns into a golden stone Golem capable of defending whoever is attuned with it. The golem has resistance to fire and is immune to poison, sleep, charm, and bleeding effects. If the golem suffers (1.5 x owners hp) worth of damage then it turns back into a book and will not be able to be used again until a long rest. This uses the wielder's action.
All-knowing but forgetful. Alythessa, Golden Pages knows all common spell from lvl 1 to lvl 9 but they are lost with each new wielder. In order for Alythessa to regain its memory the wielder must succed in a Knowledge Arcana check DC 15 to identify a spell being cast. The wielder gains advantage on all Knowledge Arcana checks.
Invisibility. Alythessa, Golden Pages can turn invisible in its book form at will or by command of its wielder. This is a free action.
