Arcane Communication Earring

An arcane communication earring is a small copper earring that you wear on your ear, like in-ear headphones. The copper earring is in the shape of a hummingbird, is encrusted with a diamond, and is imbued with a Message spell. It is used similarly to a walkie-talkie. You can use a bonus action to use the earring, which can deliver and receive spoken words to and from other connected earrings within 300 ft. To send a message, the wearer must activate the earring by pressing on the diamond. All other connected earrings will passively receive the spoken sounds. The earring is shaped like a small bird because in human folklore messages can be metaphorically carried by the birds, and messenger pigeons also played a role in communication. To communicate obviously requires more than one arcane communication earring. Connecting two arcane communication earrings together requires you to make a successful arcana check and spend 1 hour imbuing them. You can connect up to 10 arcane communication earrings to the same message system.

Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the earring's communication, although the message spell can still travel freely around corners or through openings.
