The apoptopaic amulet is a small sheet of silver incised with a magical formula or protective prayer, rolled up into a scroll worn on the neck. The protective power of the aprotropaic amulet can be invoked once and only once as a reaction to cast shield. After the amulet has been used, the enchantment fades and it becomes an ordinary piece of jewelry worth 10 sp.
