This leather coat conceals a multitude of hidden blades, which reveal themselves to the wearer once attuned. A successful Intelligence (Investigation) check (DC 20) also reveals the armor's true nature. While attuned, the wearer can draw a blade from the coat, which functions as a dagger. These daggers are considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. The blades disappear after 1 hour once drawn, but otherwise can be retrieved and hidden within the armor again.
As an action, you can loose ten of the blades at once to generate one of the effects listed below. Any blades used in this way disappear once the effect ends and cannot be retrieved.
Fan of Blades. You fan the blades out, either in a 10-foot radius circle or a 20-foot long cone, centered on your space. Each creature in the affected area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 14). A target takes 4d4 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Shield of Blades. The blades orbit around your body for 1 minute, granting you a +1 bonus to AC for the duration. Additionally, any creature that moves within 5 feet of you or starts its turn there takes 1d4 slashing damage. A creature can only suffer this damage once per turn.
The armor can store up to 20 blades, and regains 1d10+5 expended blades daily at dawn.
Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.
