This claw is coming from the wing of a griffin. When you hold it in your hand you can use an action to cast the detect poison and disease spell for 1 hour at will and gain resistance to poison damage and immunity to the poisoned condition for the same duration. The claw turns black when it detects poison or disease. After the hour passes the claw loses all magic properties.
