An arctic dog sled is a carved wood sled designed for travel over snow. It can carry one driver who stands at the rear, and up to two other seated people and some extra supplies in the cargo area (300 lbs max). At the front of the sled is a series of ropes and harnesses, which attach to up to ten trained dogs or trained wolves. The dogs will trot or run to pull the sled along the snow. Dog sleds are used by people who live in freezing terrain that is covered by thick snow or ice. They are vital as one of the only means of transportation in such areas, and can carry people and supplies large distances. For travellers with coin, there are usually a number of arctic dog sleds which can be hired as taxis in arctic regions.
Dog sleds have a max movement speed of 35 ft, but cannot go past a speed of 15 ft if they are carrying more than 230 lbs.
If you have proficiency with driving an arctic dog sled, you can add your proficiency bonus to any check you make to control the vehicle in difficult circumstances.
