Weapon (greatsword), very rare (requires attunement by a Barbarian)

A greatsword which appears to be made entirely of ice, a faint mist emanates from the weapon at all times and it is freezing cold to the touch. Legend has it that the sword was bestowed to a famous warrior by Auril (goddess of winter) herself but has since been lost to the world… until now.

The sword is a +2 weapon, on a successful attack deals an extra 1d8 cold damage and the creature must make a DC10 Constitution saving throw.

On a failure the creature is petrified as the sword freezes their body.

On a success the creature isn’t petrified and the effect ends, if the same creature is hit again they must make the save again with the DC increasing by 2 each time they’re hit.

In addition to this, any water that touches the blade is turned to ice.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
