Willforged Wonder.
An item that is Willforged Wonder is a type of item that is sentient and created long ago by powerful forces, emotions, and skill. The creator of such an item instills their own will, beliefs, and desires into the item, binding that energy for eternity into the item, unless that item is destroyed. The will within a willforged is strong and can sometimes overpower the wielder. A willforged item contains three different states depending on the strength and willpower of its wielder: dormant, awakened, and bonded.
A willforged item begins in the dormant state, meaning its sentience and much of its power is sealed away in an inert slumber. A willforged item can only be awakened when a strong will call it forth through moments where the bearer's strong force of will is put to the test. To have a willforged wonder enter its exalted state is a great achievement where one's willpower is tested so greatly, it brings about the respect and admiration from the willforged, bonding the bearer and the item in such an intertwined state that great power manifests from that bond.
When a willforged wonder enters a new state, it gains all abilities of that state in addition to all previous states.
The Story of Atheneum.
Finally, he had done it! Created the ultimate scroll! Phyllossofi of Boundless Intellect has spent years upon years of his life attempting to create a spell scroll that contained all of the world's knowledge of the arcane. After prolonging his life for as long as possible, Phyllossofi was an old man by the time he reached this accomplishment. It was only three months later when he soon succumbed to age's wrath, leaving behind Athenaeum - the most powerful scroll in existence. However, the spell control was not perfect - no, it has one major flaw. It can't cast any spells on its own and requires a master! But his creator's will is stored within, and this willforged wonder desires to learn all of the spells and arcane knowledge it can!
Dormant State.
Arcane Focus. You're able to use this scroll as an arcane focus.
Spell Storage. You're able to use this scroll as your spell book. Any time you write a spell in this scroll, the spell is stored. Any spell stored in this scroll can be recalled at any time and function like an infinite-paged spell book.
Arcana Recall. You gain a +5 bonus to any Arcana checks when you are attuned to this scroll, and become proficient in Arcana if you are not already.
Indestructible. This item can only be destroyed by a Wish spell or through divine intervention.
Awakened State.
Sentience. Athenaeum is a sentient neutral good magical scroll with an Intelligence of 20, a Wisdom of 14, and a Charisma of 8. It's spell save DC is 18 and spell attack bonus is +9. It has hearing and blindsight out to a range of 60 feet. The scroll can speak, read, and understand Common, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically. While you are attuned to it, the scroll can speak and understand all of the languages that you can speak and understand.
Personality. Athenaeum speaks with a very studious tone, almost as if a professor speaking to students. He is very forgetful of people's names and doesn't quite pay much attention to those around him who aren't that interesting. The scroll can be quite grumpy when people aren't paying attention to his lectures, and has a hard time staying quiet in situations where that would probably be a wise idea. The scroll wants to constantly educate those around him. He will break into a lecture on the nature of a spell (if he can remember what spell it is), or the nature of magic itself, or of the weave and the history of it. You either let him finish, or he will be very aggravated.
Unbreakable Will. When Athenaeum senses a spell scroll or spellbook or some source of arcane knowledge around it, it will attempt to force its bearer to go find that source of magic despite any risks that may be posed to the bearer. You can attempt to resist this with a DC 18 Wisdom Saving Throw, but you must repeat it every minute you are within 60 feet of that source of arcane magic.
Arcana Recall. You now have a +10 bonus to any Arcana checks when you are attuned to this scroll.
Spell Steal. Athenaeum has three charges, which recharge at dawn. When a creature within 60 feet of you casts a spell, you can use your reaction to expend a charge and have Athenaeum steal that spell. Make an ability check, using your spellcasting modifier. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a success, the creature’s spell fails and has no effect, other than to be stored in the scroll. The level of the slot used to cast the spell determines how much space it uses. Athenaeum can hold up to 8 levels worth of spells.
While attuned to this scroll, you can cast any spell stored in it, casting it at the spell level that the spell was originally cast. The spell cast from the scroll is no longer stored in it, freeing up space.
Bonded State.
Bonded Will. The Unbreakable Will feature does not effect the attuned creature any longer.
Enter the Library. You can use Athenaeum to cast Magnificent Mansion once per day. Inside the mansion formed, however, is a giant library within the spell's dimensions that contains books of everything that Athenaeum has personally experienced. Inside, whoever is attuned to this scroll is also treated as if they cast the spell, but cannot change the layout of the library inside. Each time this feature is used, it is the same library, layout, and everything that was changed or altered the last time the spell was cast remains the same.
All intelligence checks made within this library are done so at advantage.
You can store any number of items, scrolls, and more within the library, and they will remain within the library until taken out, and will be there on subsequent castings of this spell.
Casting Surge. Once per short rest, you can use your bonus action to cast an extra spell with a casting time of one action or bonus action.
Notes: Bonus: Arcana, Wizard or Pact of the Tome Warlock, Buff, Utility, Sentient
