Weapon (shortsword), artifact (requires attunement)

A sword from the ancient past. This sword was used by the boy of hope Wilson Kajan Arcoras. This is a great artifact weapon, weapons that become stronger and resemble their former selves when the time is right. Right now it's a dull rusty shortsword. While the sword is covered in rust it is a level even lower than dormant, it is considered lost. Lost weapons are similar in power to a normal weapon but they bypass magical resistance.

Upon awakening, the sword will transform into another form, going from lost to dormant to awakened and finally to exalted.

Dormant

This shortsword sheds off it rust and absorbs nearby sunlight to turn a vibrant green. The hilt and guard is made of enchanted mahogany with carvings of grapevines all over it. The blade is bright green with thorns going along the edges of the blade.

  • This sword is actually a living plant. It needs care just like a normal plant. Not caring and maintaining this sword will result in it going back to its lost form until it is revitalized.
  • This sword stores up life energy when you inflict damage on an enemy. You store half the damage you do to an enemy as life energy, you can store up to a cap of 25 points of life energy. You can expend 10 points of life to create a life fruit as an action that heals something for 10hp when eaten. This fruit rots and turns to dust after 1 minute. The points of life you gain do not go away, and will stay with the sword until they are used. The sword can optionally use 10 points of life to maintain itself without any care from the owner for about 2 days.
  • While wielding this blade you invigorate life around you, making plants and wild animals feel healthier and friendlier around you.

Awakened

The sword grows multiple small magenta flowers on the wood of its hilt and has flowing water coursing through its carvings. The blade of the sword forms a small etched drawing of a mother and her son on one part of the blade and a father and his son on the other side.

  • The sword deals an extra 3 piercing damage with every attack it makes.
  • The cap of the points of life that can be stored increases to 50 and the sword can now make two life fruits per action.
  • You now have the option to expend 15 life points to make life fruits that heal 15hp.
  • This sword can create fresh water and grow food from its wooden hilt by expending 5 life points. The food created is enough to feed one person.

Exalted

The sword hilt morphs forming crystals full of life scattered throughout its wood. More small flowers form on the guard, and the tip of the sword blade grows a magic thistle at it's tip that can be plucked off. The etchings on the blade become more vibrant and give off a dull light green glow.

  • This sword is now fully self-sustaining and doesn't need to be taken care of
  • The sword deals an extra 5 piercing damage with every attack it makes.
  • The cap of the points of life that can be stored increases to 80 and the sword now has the option to make a life fruit per attack instead of per action.
  • You now have the option to expend any amount of life points you want up to 35 to make a life fruit that heals an equal amount to the points used.
  • You can expend 80 points in the sword to create a small cup's worth of water of life. The water of life gets rid of any natural disease the drinker has and gets rid of two levels of exhaustion.
  • Stabbing this sword into the ground will form a mini gazebo garden in a 30ft radius around the sword. The garden has space to grow fresh plants on the outer edge of the circle and has a freshwater fountain in the middle with the sword at the top. Pulling the sword out will make the garden disappear and become stored in the sword. The plants and other things in the garden will continue to grow while the gazebo isn't activated.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
