Alakai's Sword of Vengence

This sword contains the cursed Spirit of a long dead Elven Paladin known as Alakai. Upon returning to his home town and finding his family slaughtered by a group of his enemies he had failed to kill. he vowed to find them and took an Oath of Vengence. He grew  insane in his pursuit of those that slaughtered his loved ones, and eventually fell in battle, but the need for vengence was so great his spirit entered the only vessel it could find, his shortsword that was passed down to him through the generations. His body was laid to rest next to his wife and daughter in his hometown of Yaen Ancalen that has now fallen to ruins in 287 years since he was killed, located somewhere in the northern Dolthon mountain range. 

This sword has been tainted by evil intentions, it demands blood of any kind and will bend the holder to it's will if held for long enough. When it has not been used for more than 2 weeks the holder will have to make a Wisdom save every morning. Upon a save the holder successfully quiets the voices and can choose to redirect the sword to hit an enemy or subdue the sword altogether, upon a fail the holder will use the sword on the nearest being who will have to make a Dexterity saving throw. Upon a fail the being must take 3d20 damage , upon a save the being will take no damage.

The sword does an increasing amount of damage up to 3d20 at it's most powerful. See the Chart below for daily damage stats.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
