Weapon (rapier), rare (requires attunement by a swashbuckler rogue)

This wicked blade glimmers in the sun, shining as light is reflected off of tiny barbs at the tip of the silver blade. Made with extraordinary craftsmanship, this weapon seems to cut into the very consciousness of a creature when they are struck with it.

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Additionally, the first time each turn you hit a target with this weapon, you learn one of the target's largest pet peeves or insecurities. If you share a common language you can use your Panache action as a bonus action this turn to deliver a cutting remark.

If you succeed on the check and the creature is hostile to you, it has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you and can’t make opportunity attacks against targets other than you. This effect lasts for 1 minute, until one of your companions attacks the target or affects it with a spell, or until you and the target are more than 60 feet apart.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
