Arranessvel is an ancient weapon. It has been in Harkan's family for 5 generations (125 years). Each wielder has affected it differently, and every time it is passed on, it resets so it may be forged a-new in its new path to glory.

The handle is crafted from Maplewood, strengthened by twisting vines running up the handle and blade. The blade itself is made from electrum, giving it a nice yellow hue with a pale base. Vines run across the blade, keeping it from bending out of place. Across the left side of the blade a symbol is indented, resembling a white right-handed gauntlet.

Occasionally the spirits of the ancestors within this weapon will communicate with the bearer, regaling a story from the weapons history. The previous wielder's spirit resides in this weapon, and advises Harkan as best they can. When you find yourself in a confrontational situation, the weapon will encourage you to bide your time, and not rush in.

125 years ago, a woman named Cara made a pact with an archfey. In exchange for the love of her life, she was to be granted a powerful weapon. One which would remain in her family long after her end. As fey do, the being played a light hearted trick on Cara. The weapon is cursed to loose all but its most basic power whenever it is passed to new hands. It thought it would be boring if each wielder had the same weapon again and again. Cara didn't discover this fact until she passed it down to her son and watched on from the after life as he was swiftly slain in battle trying to use its previous power. Realizing the trick that had been played, Cara possessed the weapon to allow it to power the weapon. Since then, every time a wielder of the weapon dies, their soul enters the weapon to allow each new wielder empower it when they find the strength within themselves to do so.

The most famous wielder of Arranessvel was Egelina, who took the blade into battle in the nine hells, Avernus. Her bravery and power was legendary, and was only emboldended when Torm, the god of courage and self-sacrifice, blessed the blade. Egelina managed to make it home, but died shortly afterwards. This was 50 years ago.
