Amulet of Animal Parenting

While wearing the Amulet of Animal Association, the wearer can use their action to attempt to create a telepathic link with an animal (up to the dm's discretion) of size Small or smaller that is challenge rating 1/2 or below. In trying to establish this connection with an animal, the user must make a contested Animal Handling versus the targeted animal's Intelligence check in an effort to make them believe that you are their parent. If the user is hostile towards the animal, or, if the user previously harmed the animal's true parents in front of the animal, the animal automatically succeeds on this contested check.

If the user succeeds in this check, they have made a permanent connection made between them and the animal.  As a bonus action, the player can issue commands to their animal friend telepathically. Also, the feathers and scales that the amulet are made out of all change in appearance to resemble the covering of the animal that the bond was made with. 

If the user fails in this check, no connection is made between them and the animal.  Also, the feather and scales that the amulet is made out of all fall from the amulet, leaving only the chain behind. 

Regardless of if the user succeeds or fails, the magic present in this amulet dissipates afterwards. If a connection was made between the user and the animal, that connection remains. 

This amulet consists of several feathers and scales coming off of it, all seeming to be from different kinds of small beasts and monstrosities. The loop that these feathers and scales come off is thicker than one would expect from an amulet, strangely seeming to resemble a tail. The taillike shape changes in colour and texture when it comes to each feather or scale, most likely to resemble the colour of the creature that these things come from.
