A small, 3 inch metal cube that is made up of a variety of smaller colored cubes. There are six colors that make up this box, blue, ehite, red, yellow, black, and green. each side has is composed of nine smaller cubes. The cubes can be manipulated in rows or collumns, able to be shuffled to each side.
Identifying this object only gives you its name: Athoir's Puzzle Box. When one side has been completed an identify spell will reveal the effect of that side, and may hint to effects that combining sides may have.
Blue:
When the blue side is complete: a trickle of water pours out of the blue surface, the water is clean, cool and refreshing.
White:
When the white side is complete: the square becomes ice cold, and the surrounding five feet become much colder, (15* F drop)
Red:
When the red side is complete: The square becomes red hot (emits no light) heating a five foot area, similarly to a stove.
Yellow:
The square releaces a bright light, similar to the light spell.
Black:
The square seems to darken and dissapear, opening into an extra dimensional storage space, sized 1ft cubed. the only opening is the cube face, (3 inches squared) when undone, items stay in the storage space when the side is undone.
Green:
A small random plant grows on the surface of the cube. This plant is always edible or able to be made into a tea. Consuming this plant can sustain one medium sized creature for one meal. If this side is used more than three times a day, the plant it produces becomes mildly poisonous, causing any that eats it to be poisoned for one minute, anyone that is poisoned in this way are incapacitated for the duration.
Blue and Red:
Creates water in a similar manner to the blue side, however the water is boiling hot as it trickles off of the square.
Blue and White:
Creates water in a similar manner to the blue side, however the water is freezing cold as it trickles off the square.
Black and Red:
Creates a warm space, in a similar manner to the black side. This is the same extra-dimensional space as the black square. This space could work as an incubator, or a way to keep a meal warm.
Black and White:
Creates a cold space, in a similar manner to the black side. This is the same extra-dimensional space as the black square. This space could be used as a fridge, or a way to keep a drink cold. It is not cold enough to freeze water.
Blue and Green:
Creates a bounty of fruit, vegtables, and nuts, feeding up to ten medium sized creatures for one meal, or one creature for one meal, alternativly. The food created in this manner will rot after seven days. This feature can only be used once every seven days.
Solving the Box: Make an intelligence check to attempt to solve one side of the box.
Dc 15 intelligence check to solve one side of the box. On a success, a side of the characters's choice is solved in 10 minutes. For every 2 points you succed by, reduce the time spent on solving one side by 1 minute.
The minumum time to solve a side is 30 seconds.
