Adventurer's Pack

"You have discovered a hardy leather backpack, fashioned from the finest dragon hide . . . this pack will last longer than you and will likely be carried by your children and grandchildren."

Though the traveling tinker's claim that the pack is made of dragon hide is likely an exaggeration, you do admit that the pack is very sturdy and was likely made from the hide of a reptile much smaller than an actual dragon.  The craftsmanship is beyond compare, especially for the price you purchased it for.  You especially like that it has several loops with buckles, so you can attach things like your lantern or water skin to the outside of the pack for easy access.  It is very comfortable on your back, in spite of the amount of gear  you put inside it, almost as if the only weight you feel is that of the pack itself and nothing else.  You quickly find, once on the road, that it keeps everything completely dry, no matter the weather or condition.  The five smaller pockets on the sides and the face of the pack make it much easier to sort your gear, and it seems that each of them holds near about twice what you would guess they could hold.  The size of the larger, inner compartment is exactly what you see, however, though any time you go searching for something in particular it always seems to be at the top.  You've tested this on a number of occasions, purposefully looking for something you know should be at the bottom, and there is it, right on top.  Funny, huh?  It is a very good pack, though, not one you'll want to give up any time soon.
