Ardellan's Penance

Made with rich blue and white fabrics and accented with embroidered threads of adamantine this was created to be the Vestments of Thunder. The garment is magically bonded to sections of enchanted and extraordinarily fine chain mail. When empowered with the Ki of a monk blue electrical arcs can be seen cascading across the mail sections (this effect can be suppressed at will by the user). The clothing will remain conspicuously clean and unsoiled despite any environment or abuse. 

When worn it will grant the following:

• Immunity: Deafened
• Immunity: Lightning
• Immunity: Thunder
• Increase Wisdom to 20
• +3 to Unarmored Armor Class

The following abilities are accessible providing the monk has the availible Ki points to empower them:

Ki Empowered Lightning Bolt

On a successful unarmed strike the monk may spend two Ki points and a stroke of lightning forming a line 100 feet long and 5 feet wide blasts out from the strike on impact in the direction of the hit. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw equal to the Monks Ki save. A creature takes 8d6 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The lightning ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.

Ki Empowered Thunderwave

On a successful unarmed strike the monk may spend a Ki point and a wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw equal to the monks Ki save. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed. In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 10 feet away from you by the spell's effect, and the spell emits a thunderous boom audible out to 300 feet. The damage can be increased by 1d8 for each additional Ki point spent.

 Ki Empowered Thunderclap

On a successful unarmed strike the monk may spend a Ki point and a burst of thunderous sound is created by the impact that can be heard up to 100 feet away. Each creature within range, other than you, must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d6 thunder damage equal to the monks Ki save. The damage can be increased by 1d6 for each additional Ki point spent.

Ki Empowered Chain Lightning

On a successful unarmed strike the monk may spend three Ki points and a bolt of lightning strikes the target of impact. Three bolts then leap from that target to as many as three other targets, each of which must be within 30 feet of the first target. A target can be a creature or an object and can be targeted by only one of the bolts. A target must make a Dexterity saving throw equal to the monks Ki save. The target takes 10d8 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. At Higher Levels one additional bolt leaps from the first target to another target for each Ki point spent.

Christoff Ardellan was a successful Artificer who unfortunately chose to set up shop in the middle of the Soltovian wine country. One day his folly led to an explosion that leveled his workshop and released an enchanted blight that quickly spread to infect the entire grape harvest. Faced with personally causing economic catastrophe for Soltova, he set out to make amends by crafting this wonderous item to present to Grand Master of the order of monks that governed the region as restitution.

The blight resulted in wine made from the grapes tasting like it had been aged in barrels of rusty iron. Not accounting for taste, it was soon discovered that it could be exported to dwarven communities at a handsome profit since the vintage could not be produced anywhere else.  The gift was accepted and the monastery thrived for years before eventually being leveled by a dragon looking to add to it's hoard. Ardellan's Penance as it had become to be know by was lost in the attack.
