A golden belt crafted by the Planestrider Micah Alexander for the purposes of traversal within various planes. The belt is crafted by smithing the liquid gold which flows through the rivers of Mount Celestia and is encrusted with Spell Gems using various spells based on flight and levitation.
Dormant
While wearing this magic item in its dormant state, you have a special form of a movement called a glide speed equal to your walking speed. While using your glide speed, you hover one inch off the ground and are unable to adjust your elevation manually. When you end your turn in a space that is more than 5 feet off the ground, you will begin safely descending towards the ground at a rate of 15 feet per round. If you are knocked prone, your speed is reduced to 0, or are otherwise deprived of the ability to move, you will begin to fall as normal.
Awakened
When Alexander's Hovering Halo reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- You can use your action to activate the belt's Levitation Mode, giving you more control over your verticality. For one hour, you can change your altitude by up to 20 feet up or down while gliding. In addition, you will no longer begin falling when over a space that is more than 5 feet off the ground. Once you use this trait, you cannot do so again until the next dawn.
- In addition, the speed at which you safely descend is increased from 15 to 30 feet per round.
Exalted
When Alexander's Hovering Halo reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties:
- You can use your action to activate the belt's Flight Mode. For ten minutes, you gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed. Once you use this trait, you cannot do so again until the next dawn.
- In addition, the speed at which you safely descend is increased from 30 to 60 feet per round. You will also continue to safely descend even if you are knocked prone, your speed is reduced to 0, or are otherwise deprived of the ability to move.
