This item is a small wooden spindle incised with a number of intricate runes. Wrapped around it is several feet of three-stranded flaxen twine. When cut from the spool, the twine begins to secrete a strong acid in 1d4 rounds. A 6 inch length of twine, with all 3 strands intact is sufficiently acidic to melt through a 1 inch steel bar in 10 turns (1 minute). A single strand is strong enough to melt through 1/4 of steel in a 10 turn (1 minute) period of time.
Any flesh exposed to the twine will take 1d4 points of acid damage per turn until dropped for a strand or 1d12 points of acid damage for a length of 3-stranded twine.
Each spindle has a number of "charges". Each 6 inch length of twine consumes 3 charges, each strand consumes 1 charge.
