This rod holds 3 charges. While wielding it, you can use an action and expend 1 of its charges to touch any non-magical object no larger than one cubic foot in volume and turn it into delicious cake of any flavor of your choosing. The affected item will still look exactly the same, but its surface will be fondant and it will no longer function -- cake weapons do no damage, cake arcane foci don't help you cast spells etc.

To use the rod during combat, declare what object you want to transform into cake with the rod. The creature carrying that item must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 10 + the rod wielder's DEX modifier) to avoid having it touched by the rod. The rod has no effect on creatures such as constructs, only non-magical objects.

The rod regains 1 expended charge with a long rest. If you expend the rod's last charge, the rod itself turns into fruit cake.

The Rod of Cake is about 18 inches long and made of a hard, dark wood the color of chocolate. The rod has a wide, flat head, like a frosting spatula.
