These kinds of amulets are often created by an experiment gone wrong -or sometimes gone exactly right. There is a voice locked within the amulet that you hear in your head, and this voice is often very far from the person it had belonged to, personality-wise.
The voice usually adapts to the name you give it to it, but sometimes it might be young enough to not be stripped from its own name.
It will give you an advantage on perception checks no matter what and sometimes might answer the questions you ask it. Is it true, is it a lie? You cannot tell.
