a staff that has been resting in an ancient tomb. it once belonged to a very powerfull lizardfolk shaman. over time its magics have become unstable due to it being in dissuse for centuries.
on a roll of 18 or higher one of 3 possitive effects will occur:
(on a nat 20) 2d6 magic pink bubbles will float out of the staffs tip in the general direction of a dissired target. 1d4 damage per bubble.
(on a 19) a beam of light in all collors of the rainbow shoots out of the tip of the staff at your last target. 2d6 damage.
(on a 18) you feel magic surging through your veins. add half of your previous damage to your total damage.
on a roll of 3 or lower one of 3 negative effects will occur:
(on a 3) a blinding flash explodes from the tip of the staff. theu user must succeed on a dc 10 con saving throw or be blinded for 1d4 rounds.
(on a 2) a dark shadow creeps over your arm and completely engulfs it. you have dissadvatage on your next attack and take 1d4 points of necrotic damage. the shadow will fade after 1 round , after it fades it will leave your bloodveins black for 1d6 weeks in your dominant hand and arm.
(on a nat 1) you feel your energy being sucked into the staff. you lose one spellslot and take 1d6 points of damage.
this staff has a magical power of its own: the user gets 1 extra spell slot
note: this is the unstable version of the staff. a capable sorcerer or wizard with a inteligence score of 18 or a wisdom score of 18 will be able to stabilise the staff and get rid of 3 random effects.
