This arrow can store a single spell, holding it until the arrow strikes a target.
Any creature can cast a spell of 2nd level or lower into the arrow by touching the arrow as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored. If the arrow already holds a spell, the new spell replaces it, and the old spell's energy is expended without effect. The spell must have a target other than Self.
When an attack is made with the arrow, the stored spell is triggered. The spell uses the slot level (to a maximum of 2nd), spell save DC, and spellcasting ability of the original caster. If the arrow strikes a target, the spell is cast on that target, with no additional attack roll necessary. If the arrow misses, the spell is cast wherever the arrow lands. An area effect spell is cast from the arrow's final location. Once the spell is delivered, the arrow loses its magical properties.
If the spell would affect an invalid target -- for example, a Charm Person spell against a beast, or Inflict Wounds against a castle wall -- the spell instead has no effect.
